Enjoy Atlantic City on a Shoestring Budget
The best feature about Atlantic City is that there are loads of free beaches that one can see and that are a quite big achievement. Any family can enjoy an absolutely free day on a beach without spending even a single pie. While on the beach, one can enjoy a walk on its four-mile long boardwalk. The Atlantic City boardwalk is recognized as one of the oldest and world’s finest boardwalks. Its construction started back in 1870 and it was completed in 1896. Some remains of the old boardwalk can still be seen now such as the statue of Mr. Peanut displayed at the Garden Pier.

The Garden Pier is worth a watch as it houses the famous Historic Museum and the Art Center. The Historic Museum has a unique collection of many artifacts, photographs and vintage film footage about the history of Atlantic City and how did it become so famous. The must watch Art Center houses the works of renowned artists and has a gift shop. The Garden Pier also pays special attention to its customers by providing free parking facilities to its customers.
Another must watch of the Atlantic City Boardwalk is the Steel Pier. Steel Pier provides unique opportunities to experience the sites and sounds. If a traveler is casually strolling on the Boardwalk he can acquaint himself with familiar landmarks, which have attained fame due to Monopoly, the famous game that took birth and became famous in Atlantic City.
There are opportunities to enjoy an exciting bike ride on the Boardwalk from 6:00 to 10:00 in the mornings and it is absolutely free, as long as the visitor is bringing his own bike. The Casinos on the Boardwalk offer some free concerts daily so the visitor should keep checking the calendar and make use of these discounts and offers. The Kennedy Plaza also organizes free concerts on the Boardwalk. These concerts are sponsored by the Atlantic City Free Public Library. The Water Show at the end of the Pier Shops is also worth a watch, which operates every hour, it has a marvellous display of dazzling colors and lights.
There is also a famous landmark Absecon Lighthouse that is worth a visit, it is the tallest lighthouse in New Jersey and the country’s third tallest 228 steps high lighthouse. It has been existing in the Atlantic City for over 150 years. There is an entry fee that is charged to ascend the lighthouse and fee is also charged on entering the Historic Museum but all parking facilities are fully free. There is also a fully free interesting Air Show during the summers that is thoroughly enjoyed by all the visitors of Atlantic City. The Air Show, which happened in the summers of 2009, was named “Thunder Over the Boardwalk” which was much enjoyed by the people visiting Atlantic City.
