Vacation at See the Philadelphia Liberty Bell
There is nothing as beautiful when the golden rays of the sun fall on the Liberty Bell and highlight the engraved words, “Proclaim Liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof.” This remarkable bell is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In spite of the wear and tear and the cracks that have developed on the bell over the years, the bell is still the symbol of freedom and shines brightly all over America. The bell is popular far & wide because it stands for the virtues of liberty and freedom and it also promotes the abolition of slavery. This liberty bell weighs a whopping 2080 pounds and has been cast by Whitechapel Foundry of London who also created the Big Ben. In March 1753, the bell was hung within the belfry of the independence hall and was dispatched to Philadelphia over the period of six months. as soon as the bell was suspended from the tower, cracks could be seen. Ever since, a number of attempts are carried out to recast the bell in order to prevent it from cracking again.

John Stow and John Pass, who were the renowned foundry-men in Philadelphia in those days, were handed over with the responsibility of recasting this legendary bell. The duo tried to recast the bell my adding more copper which in turn affected the sound produced by the bell. This led to the the Pennsylvania Assembly, which were the original procurers of this bell to demand that a remedy for this should be found. It is said that the working of the liberty bell was never meant to be because the bell was doomed since its introduction. The bell was finally hung in the year 1753, after the third round of revamping. After this day, the bell was used quite often and till the time it was so cracked that nothing could be done to fix it. a lot of rumors have been mongered about the Liberty Bell in these three hundred years of its existence. However, very few of these are true.
